Foldable Display RFQs: Define Transport State

Oct 30, 2026 | Industry Trends
For a foldable advertising-display RFQ, ask HMS LED to identify the supplier-defined state proposed for transport before accepting packing dimensions. Keep the display’s configuration, the treatment of its base components and the external shipping pack as separate references. The official gallery shows different display-state views, but a photograph does not establish the delivered configuration or packing method. Request a marked supplier reference and a version-linked packing statement rather than estimating shipment size or working out a folding procedure from the image.
Name the state behind the shipment information
Attach the exact foldable-advertising-display product link and ask the supplier to identify the offered version. State that the enquiry concerns the factory-proposed transport configuration. This gives the supplier a specific question to answer instead of assuming that a view used to advertise the product also defines how it will be supplied.
Use a supplier-marked reference to identify the relevant state. If the supplier uses terms such as folded, expanded or another configuration name, ask it to connect that term to the actual product reference. Keep the term descriptive. The buying record should identify the proposal without turning an illustration into instructions for moving or operating the equipment.
Separate panel position from the supplied base scope
Ask which parts of the product are represented in the transport reference, including how the supplier describes the base and any other supplied support components. A narrow display-side view does not by itself explain whether every visible component belongs to the quoted shipment configuration.
Where the supplier proposes components in a different packing arrangement, request an explicit component statement. Do not assume that a base is detached, that wheels are removed or that a particular mechanism is used. Keep the supplier’s offered state and the identity of supplied items clear without prescribing a preparation method or creating an unconfirmed assembly requirement.
Transport reference | Question to clarify | Supplier record requested
Display configuration | Which state does the proposed transport reference show? | Named state and marked product view
Base and support | Which components are represented in that state? | Explicit supplied-component scope
Product envelope | Which parts are included in the reported dimensions? | Named physical object and measurement reference
Outer shipping pack | What external pack is actually proposed? | Separate packing description and dimensions
Multiple packages | Does the offer involve one pack or identified separate packs? | Package references tied to their contents
Distinguish product dimensions from outer packing
Ask whether each reported size belongs to the product in its proposed state or to the complete external shipping pack. Keep those entries separately labelled. A dimension describing the physical display cannot automatically be used as the external carton, crate or case size, and the quotation should not imply that a particular pack type is included without confirmation.
Request the supplier’s units and measurement basis for each entry. Where a dimension includes a base, projection or other component, ask for that inclusion to be identified. Do not add an estimated packing allowance, infer internal clearance or assign an unlisted pack size from the visible space around the product in a photograph.
Connect every pack reference to its contents
If the supplier proposes more than one package, ask it to identify the contents belonging to each package reference. Keep the quoted display version and its components connected to that list. The buyer should be able to understand the shipment proposal without treating every picture of the product as a separate supplied item or package.
Keep weights and quantities labelled by their actual reference as well. A product weight, packed-unit weight and shipment total are different entries. Request the supplier’s explanation where one is unclear rather than reconstructing an unconfirmed packaging weight or assuming the same arrangement applies to a different quantity or display version.
• Ask for the supplier’s actual transport-state reference.
• Identify which base and support components belong to that proposal.
• Separate product-envelope dimensions from external packing dimensions.
• Connect each proposed package to its stated contents.
Keep logistics questions separate from product operation
A confirmed packing statement identifies the supplier’s shipment proposal. It does not independently establish transport suitability, handling performance or an installation method. Request any information needed for the actual logistics discussion separately, using the supplier-confirmed packing references and the relevant service proposal.
Likewise, the word foldable does not provide a complete operating procedure. Ask the supplier for the applicable manufacturer documentation for the offered version when required. Do not derive folding, connection or powered-operation steps from the gallery image. This enquiry defines the shipment state and its references, rather than instructing someone to alter or energize the display.
Send a transport-state clarification request
An enquiry can read: Please identify the factory-proposed transport configuration for the linked foldable advertising display. Provide a marked state reference and identify the included base and support components. Separate product-envelope dimensions from the external shipping pack, and connect each package reference to its contents, dimensions and stated weight basis.
Retain the returned statement with the quotation identity. If the offered configuration or packing arrangement changes, request replacement references for the affected items. This gives the buyer a defined shipment proposal without guessing a pack size, assuming component removal, promising handling performance or supplying electrical or folding instructions.
Frequently asked questions
Does a folded gallery view establish the delivered configuration?
Ask the supplier to identify its actual transport proposal and connect it to a marked product reference.
Can product dimensions be used as outer packing dimensions?
Keep the product envelope and external shipping pack separately identified and request the supplier’s corresponding entries.
Should the buyer assume the base or wheels are removed?
Request the proposed component and packing scope instead of assigning a preparation method from the picture.
Does this RFQ provide a folding or powered-operation procedure?
No. Request applicable manufacturer documentation separately; the enquiry identifies the supplier’s shipment state and packing references.
